Authors

Digital signature can be used to sign documents digitally. And in India, they are regulated by the government and are legally recognized as equivalent to a physical signature.

In India, it's a mandatory to have digital dignature if you're a director of a company since that will be needed to sign and submit your legal documents.

In this article let's see how to use it in Mac with Adobe Reader.

Let's get started:

Step #0: Installing Depedencies

We'll be using Adobe Reader for signing the document. So make sure that you've it installed in your machine.

Similarly, download and install the macOS driver for your ePass 2003. In my case, I've downloaded it from e-mudhra CA

Step #1: Configuring Adobe Reader

We'll need to properly configure our ePass driver in Adobe reader in order to use it for signing.

To do that,

  • Go to the Preferences (Cmd + ;) -> Signatures -> Click on More button
  • Now, select PKCS#11 Modules and Tokens and then click on Attach Module button
  • Now configure the Library Path which is /usr/local/lib/libcastle_v2.1.0.0.dylib
